Westbank successfully launches “The Virtual Westbank Project”!

Westbank, BC – November 6, 2008 - The Westbank Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Westbank are pleased to announce the launch of the new interactive photo system called the "Virtual Westbank Project".

Members have joined together to showcase Westbank through a collection of photos and big-screen virtual tours.

The Gallery is featured on both www.WestbankChamber.com and www.WestsideTourism.com.

The Virtual Westbank Project

The gallery is FREE for all to view and gives everyone an incredible "like you are there" feeling for Westbank. The participation has been incredible including large and small businesses of all kinds; Mission Hill Family Estate, Westbank's famous Gellatly Nut Farm, The Cove Lakeside Resort, and other local businesses and attractions. If you think you have seen Westbank before, think again! It seems the whole city has been buzzing about The Gallery! Over 60 participating local businesses are already very happy with the response they have had using this unique presentation, and of course the benefit of being a part of such a well promoted group initiative. The Virtual Westbank Gallery is featured on every single page of both websites. What's not to be excited about?!

"I have seen many virtual tours and have been involved with many and this by a long shot is the best product I’ve seen yet.” says Ingrid Dilschneider of Mission Hill Family Estate

These 360 degree virtual tours of many local businesses including local parks, area attractions, wineries, accommodations, restaurants and an amazing list of our local services and retail offered in the Westbank community. You can even see a "sneak-peek" of the golf course tours to be filmed in the spring. Students and adults alike are able to view a tour of Okanagan College, Westside Go-Karts, Parrot Island Sanctuary (our local charitable Parrot Sanctuary), and Croc Talk, an educational conservation facility for crocodiles, wildcats, and new tortoises! “Children of all ages” can enjoy walking through these high quality panoramic virtual tours at the click of a mouse, enabling them to show friends and family our area through the shared collection of images.

New "Relocating to Westbank" section featuring Virtual Home Tours

It is no coincidence then that both new, old, and potential residents will find the new ‘Relocating to Westbank' section a great place to start their home shopping by viewing virtual tours of houses on these websites from the comfort of their own homes. You will find both New Homes and Resale Homes throughout Westbank with detailed information on each home as well as Open House Listings, Community profile, and Demographics. People are finding out why we proudly call Westbank "HOME".

We are continually adding new virtual tours of local real estate and local businesses – please check back often for updates and additions to the Virtual Westbank Project.

… and a special thank you to all the Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Members and Staff who helped make this project an incredible success! Interested in joining in on “The Project”, just call The Westbank & District Chamber of Commerce at (250) 768-3378 and say you are interested in finding out more about getting your business involved in “The Virtual Westbank Project”
