The 11th Annual Key Business Awards, presented by the Westbank & District Chamber of Commerce, recognize businesses, organizations & individuals from the Westside, who have achieved excellence in the community through their own abilities, efforts and initiatives.
All business on the Westside are eligible and we look forward to receiving YOUR nominee for consideration.

Arts & Cultural Improvement – Sponsored by Mission Hill Estate Winery
A business, organization or individual: that directly mproves the development of the Arts and Culture within our community. They may do this through their own work or through the assistance they provide to others, appreciating the very important value of creative and innovative expression. Arts & Cultural include: Performing, Visual and written works
Tourism Development - Sponsored by Okanagan Business Excellence
A business, organization or individual(s) that: supports the Westside tourism industry and contributes to the development of West Kelowna / Westbank as a must-see destination. The tourism-related product or service must have been offered within the 18 months concluding December 31st of the current year.
Business Beautification - Sponsored by Bylands Nursery
A Business that: maintains a consistent standard or be working towards the beautification of their exterior premises, including building frontage or window displays or the overall property development. To qualify for this category the business standards must exceed what has been set through by-law regulations.
Community Social Development - Sponsored by CIBC
An individual or group of individuals, who volunteer(s) their time for the benefit of our community,, and are recognized for the positive impact on business and community life. The award will be presented to the candidate, who deserves to be recognized for their exemplary contribution over the past year.
Aboriginal - Sponsored by Westbank First Nation
An aboriginal Business that: exemplifies entrepreneurship and demonstrates outstanding contribution to the ideals and vision of the First Nation People. Aboriginal owner must have a 51% or better share in the business.
Home Based Business - Sponsored by Maciel & Company
A home based business that consistently shows excellence and quality in service and marketing. The business is recognized as employing ethical business standards with customers, employees and suppliers, while contributing to the quality of life in the community.
New Business - Sponsored by Hergott Law
A business that is established in the last 24 months ending December 31st of the current year, and is recognized as employing ethical business standards with customers, employees and suppliers, while contributing to the quality of life in the community
Young Entrepreneur Award - Sponsored by Porrelli Law
An entrepreneur(s) between the ages of 19 and 35 as of December 31st of the current year who: is an owner(s) or manager(s) and must have been actively involved in the companys daily management. She/he is recognized as employing ethical business standards with customers, employees and suppliers, while contributing to the quality of life in the community.
Small Business – Service (under 15 employees) - Sponsored by Central Okanagan Economic Development Commission
A service based business, under 15 employees, that markets and advertises effectively and is proactive to changing market trends and provides a variety of products it willingly stands behind and give good value for the dollar. It has established good relationships with its customers and the staff has good product knowledge.

Business Person of the Year - Sponsored by Interior Savings Credit Union
The award is presented to an individual who is a dedicated leader, contributor (not always financial) and embodies the spirit of entrepreneurship. The conduct of the recipient and his/her business must be above reproach with regard to ethics, quality, and service and project a positive community image

A business that provides its customers with a consistency of excellence in quality service, staff and/or products beyond customer expectations. The business establishes trust with experience, knowledge and is proactive.
Green Award - Sponsored by ***Available
Created to recognize businesses and organizations in West Kelowna who successfully implement environmentally sustainable practices in their business. The award aims to further educate businesses in the area on the benefits of integrating green strategies in their business.
