Committees 
Priorities set annually by the Westbank & District Chamber of Commerce's Board of Directors are a direct result of community and member feedback.  These priorities are reflected in the work of the following Westbank & District Chamber of Commerce committees:

2007 - 2008 Committees 
Westbank and District Chamber of Commerce (WDCC) Board members sit on or chair each of these committees.  They meet once per month with some exceptions. 
Membership Committee:  The Membership Committee is a standing committee of the WDCC that is responsible for membership recruitment and retention. Chaired by Eric Steinbach 
Event Committee: The Events Committee is a standing committee of the WDCC that provides networking opportunities to our membership, through events such as Lunch & Learns, Business After Hours, Trade Shows, Golf Tournaments, Key Business Awards, etc… This committee also works in partnership with other groups and organizations for the betterment of our community  i.e. Westside Daze. Chaired by Julie Clitheroe
Advocacy:  The Advocacy Committee is a standing committee of the WDCC which monitors and examines issues of importance to the Chamber’s membership and the overall Community. Where appropriate, the Advocacy Committee develops and recommends to the Chamber Board position statements on selected municipal, provincial, and/or federal issues affecting our local business community. Chaired by Mike Scarlett
 
Tourism Committee: The Tourism Committee is a standing committee of the WDCC that provides overall guidance and direction for the Chamber’s Tourism programs. This committee may intersect with the Events committee on projects involving both the Community and the Chamber. Chaired by Ingrid Dilschneider and Jayne Fosbery (Co-chair).  
Business Enhancement Committee: Chaired by Broc Braconnier
    Committee Objectives: The overall objective should be set on the terms reference mandate, therefore the committee established a couple of objectives to set in motion such as:

§         Concentrate on enhancement.

·         Attract business and retain and expand existing business and industry. 

  • Partnership with WFN & Region in promoting, Enhancement, Attraction & Retention
 
2008 - Other Community Involvement
Westbank and District Chamber of Commerce staff, board members, and/or committees are also active in the community as participants in various non-chamber community organizations.  The Chamber feels it is important to be involved with these organizations to work for the benefit and greater good of business and residents of the Westside.
